Hugh Jackman The Kids Hit The Beach Down Under
The rain returned last night but, thankfully, it wasn’t a torrential downpour … and it didn’t last very long. After a nice quiet day together, David and I decided to take in a movie to end our lovely Xmas Day. A couple of months ago we saw a trailer for a Finnish film called Rare Exports that looked interesting. It tells the tale of the discovery of an evil, child-killing Santa Claus … which seemed like the perfect Xmas Day film.
The thing I loved most about the film was the inventiveness of the story. While there were a few things about the plot that I would’ve liked fleshed out a bit more, the overall film was really entertaining. Did you know that Santa Claus is not actually a jolly ol’ elf who likes to deliver toys to all the good little boys and girls around the world? Well, according to Rare Exports … it’s true … he’s actually a hulking creature that has been buried for centuries and threatens to take his wrath on the children of the world should he ever be freed. I wouldn’t call the film a horror movie … but I wouldn’t call it a comedy either. It’s … an interesting film, that’s for sure. It is deffo worth checking out if you’re interested in seeing Santa painted in a different light. We quite enjoyed the film.
No big plans for today … it looks like it’s gonna be a very quite Boxing Day here at the homestead.

Author Of The Dirty Girls Social Club Calls TV Adaptation Racist
Oh dear.
Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez, author of the New York Times Bestseller The Dirty Girls Social Club, is calling the TV adaptation of her book "racist, adding that her beloved characters have become "bastardizations" of her original vision.
After getting a hold of the script from an NBC employee, Alisa has said that the series "holds zero appeal [...]

A Message From MJ: Make Huge $
Solid advice, we think!
One of the last known written messages from the desk of Michael Jackson was auctioned off on eBay this week. The memo, which strangely was written on Dr. Arnie Klein's stationary, seemed to be notes Michael was making to himself about upcoming projects - including his This Is It London tour.
As you [...]

Michelle Williams Opens Up About The Death Of Heath Ledger
I am happy to report that for the first time ever, David and I will be spending Xmas together. Yes, in the almost 5 years that we have been together, we have never been able to spend Xmas together because one or both of us jetted off across the country to be with our parents. Thru a series of circumstances, David decided to stay here in LA with me … and we are very much looking forward to spending our first Xmas together.
We spent part of our evening yesterday picking out decorations for the tiny little Xmas tree we bought. My hope is that we will buy special new ornaments for our tree as the years progress and as our trees get larger. To be honest, we aren’t planning anything lavish for our Xmas night together … but we are looking forward to spending some time celebrating the season as a couple ;)
Last night, I made my way out to the Troubadour in West Hollywood, CA to see the amazing trip hop artist Tricky in concert:
I’ve been a fan of Tricky for years and have seen him a few times before in concert. He did not disappoint. His gravelly voice was in fine form last night and the sold out house just loved every second he was on stage. Unfortch, he decided to keep the lights down real low so I wasn’t able to snap any photos … but the show was fantastic. Last night’s concert was my last show of 2010 … not a bad way to end a year of great shows, let me tell you.
Today … more Xmas prep … I wanna run out and get some stockings and candy canes … you know, the usual. I hope your Xmas prep is going well … since it’s the night before the night before Xmas, we are all running out of time ;)

‘Glee’s Chord Overstreet Does ‘VMan’ Magazine
Prince Michael Joseph Jackson, the eldest child of the late Michael Jackson, was spotted tooling around town here in LA over the weekend rollin’ like a big dawg with his homies. As you can see, MJ‘s love of garish Ed Hardy clothing was passed down to the young Prince but I suppose we can forgive the lad for his questionable fashion tastes … for now.
MJ‘s little boy is growing up really fast. Pretty soon he’ll be the one behind the wheel, making his presence known here in Hollywood. Kids sure do grow up fast, don’t they? I can only hope that Prince here will also grow out of his apparent love of tacky Ed Hardy clothing :/

Tyler Perry Brings The LOLz With New Movie Posters!
Oh, Tyler Perry!
What on EARTH do you have in store for us now?!
Check out the new posters for the director's latest ca$h cow flick, Madea's Big Happy Family, which, as you can see, may look a little familiar to the 'seasoned moviegoer' (above)!
LOLz! Yeah, not sure if this is a sign that he's just [...]
But you might have to pay a little extra to see it.
By now you know that everyone and their mom executive producer is a-scared of incurring the wrath of the Kennedy family, so after the History Channel dropped their Kennedys mini-series like a hot tamale, no one would touch it. Not Starz, not Showtime, not FX. No one wanted to air it, but everyone wanted to see it.
And then, like a beacon of hope, the ReelzChannel came forward and accepted the honor of pissing off America's most famous family.
What? You don't know what ReelzChannel is? Course you do! It's like MTV, but with shows about movies instead of music! Okay, maybe that wasn't the best example, but you get the idea. The point is they're putting it on the TV, which means we all have a chance to watch it and finally find out what all the fuss is about and Katie Holmes will get her chance at an Emmy that her years at Dawson's Creek never afforded her! (A travesty, if you ask us!)
According to their website, the first part of the eight part series will air on April 3rd, so set your DVRS.
Oh, and check that you've actually go the station because we're led to believe that it might one of those "special" channels you need to pay more to have. Not sure, you'll have to check!
Who's excited to see this finally?!

Learn Spanish Rapidly
For some individuals, studying Spanish or any other foreign language can be quite easy, whilst others might exhibit difficulties in the pronunciation, grammar, or simply remembering the Spanish words. As a newbie, how can we discover Spanish fast? Quick does not mean that understanding and speaking Spanish would arrive overnight. Learning a foreign language would consider time, but you will find steps which can help us learn quicker. Studying and Creating Mistakes
Everybody starts using the basics. You can begin by studying self-study publications, purchasing language-learning software or getting a tutor or a friend who could teach you the fundamentals. Obtain a Spanish dictionary. This could be in a position to assist when trying different methods of immersing yourself in the Spanish culture. Dont get overexcited and begin remembering about thirty,000 words in Spanish. Keep in mind what words are commonly utilized and stick to conversational Spanish at initial. As soon as you already know the fundamental, then you are able to move forward to intermediate level.
Make errors. People are afraid of making errors but mistakes make you a much better individual. You discover from it. The same goes with language-learning. Language teachers would say that committing errors would show that you are certainly placing some work into learning. You make errors in Spanish because you are participating in actions like conversation or writing. When conversing with a neighborhood or native Spanish speaker, they'd frequently appreciate an individual who tries to talk Spanish even with a large amount of mistakes.
Stay Motivated and ConsistentSome people would quit after a few weeks or months in to the language-learning plan. They may cite various factors like conflict with work or loved ones. This might also be a typical issue with those who are self-studying, particularly if they lack self-discipline. When learning a foreign language, becoming constant is a main issue. Some would say that they are just performing it for enjoyable and absolutely nothing else.
You could motivate yourself by taking you next holiday in a Spanish-speaking nation or location. Or, marketing could even be a motivation. Becoming bilingual is a large plus for those who are looking for better profession opportunities. Spanish is among the main languages, with nearly 400 million speakers about the world.
Learn the CultureStudying a foreign language also indicates that you're studying a part of the culture of that nation. To better comprehend the language, culture immersion is important. Watch Spanish films and telenovelas (dramas), pay attention to Spanish songs, dance to their music, study their newspapers and publications. You can even treat your self to a Spanish dinner and practice using the menu.
Get a Spanish-speaking BuddyNothing beats getting a native-speaker to help you out. You could get a neighbour or a fellow employee who is Spanish-speaking to assist you to out practice you Spanish. You can even get into a neighborhood Spanish conversation group, get into Spanish speaking chat rooms, or possess a Spanish penpal on-line.
Learning Spanish is not an overnight make any difference. Mastering a language would consider many years, because language is constantly altering or dynamic. You should permit yourself to discover on your own tempo, set reasonable objectives and appreciate your enhancements.
